Hyderabad , June 22 EYEING the Rs 5,000-crore pre-school education market in the country, Zee Interactive Learning Systems Ltd (ZILS), an Essel group company, is planning to increase the number of Kidzee centres to 500 from 250 by the end of the fiscal. Some of these centres would come up in the Gulf, Singapore, Thailand, and Nepal. Speaking to newsperson on Wednesday, Mr Ashish Deb, Senior Vice-President, said that the Kidzee curricula include multiple activities to encourage learning through creative teaching methods. "Kidzee centres believe in teaching methods that encourage learning through play." Mr Deb was in the city in connection with launch of Kidzee concept in Andhra Pradesh. "We are opening six centres in the State in 15 days." While four would come up in Hyderabad, one each would be opened in Kodad and Hanamkonda. Fifteen more centres would be opened in the State this year. In metros, Kidzee centres charge a monthly fee of Rs 1,000 and in smaller towns, Rs 600. Keeping in view the shortage in human resources in this segment of education, ZILS recently started ICECTE (International Early Childhood Teachers Education Course), a one-year diploma course in teachers' training.
