The delegation's itinerary includes a visit to Silicon Valley and the Telugu Association of North America's (TANA) annual fete, to be held in Detroit during July 1-4.

The delegation will include Mr Kanna Lakshminarayana, Minister for Co-operation, and Dr C.S. Rao, CEO of P Invest and IT Advisor to the Government. Mr Suresh Reddy, along with the team, met the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Thursday to discuss the details of the trip.

The Chief Minister has asked the delegation to showcase the various developmental projects being taken up in the State at various forums in the US. The focus will be on attracting investments in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, food processing, fab facilities, and airlines and automobile sectors.

The delegation will interact with a dedicated meeting with the Telugu community on July 4. During the visit to Silicon Valley from July 6-10, the delegation will take part in a seminar being sponsored by the ITAA (Information Technology Association of America) and Sierra Atlantic. The seminar would focus on IT and ITES investments in Andhra Pradesh.

Stating that companies such as Solectron, Intel, Nuelight Design Center, and Cypress were looking at setting up manufacturing bases in India, the Chief Minister said that AP Invest would organise meetings with heads of such companies to present the State's case.

A meeting with semiconductor industry players too will be organised to encourage them to set up fab facilities in the State. On July 12, the delegation will have meetings with CA and AIG. It will visit East Fishkill, the hub of IBM activity, to persuade the company to bring its IBM's Server manufacturing unit to Andhra Pradesh. The team will return on July 15.
