Nabard sanction to TN projects

CHENNAI: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Tamil Nadu projects with an outlay of Rs 53.29 crore and assistance of Rs 50.35 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) - XI, according to a press release.

The assistance covers seven irrigation projects in Erode, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Pudukottai. The projects would increase the gross cropped area of about 22,400 hectares in these districts through assured irrigation, flood mitigation, restoring lost irrigated areas due to degeneration of channels and tanks.

The cumulative sanction since the inception of RIDF is Rs 3,124.91 crore and the cumulative disbursement is Rs 1,979.13 crore, according to the release.
