Codissia to have Excise help centre

Coimbatore , June 24

THE Central Excise Commissionerate here will set up its help centre in the premises of the Coimbatore District Small-scale Industries Association (Codissia) here.

The centre will start functioning from July 1 and it will be manned by a superintendent and an inspector of Central Excise who will attend to the help centre at least a few hours every day.

According to a communication from the office of the Commissioner of Central Excise, Coimbatore, the Codissia help centre will function between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on all Mondays except Central Government holidays to start with.

The help centres will assist the small tax payers in matters relating to Central excise, customs and service tax and help create awareness on the advantages of tax compliance.
