Water conservation

This is with reference to the article "Free water for farming may not last: Montek" (Business Line, June 25). Better water management and water reforms are necessary to meet the increasing demand. While misuse, pollution, wastage etc should be avoided, modern technology such as drip-irrigation should be adopted.

Storage facilities should be improved through rain harvesting. Further, desalination and linking of rivers should be paid more attention.
