Rubber Spot rubber rules steady Our Correspondent
Kottayam , June 29 THE domestic spot rubber continued to rule steady on Wednesday. Though the buyers queue seemed to be narrow, the absence of quantity sellers in major grades kept the market flat and slightly firm throughout the session. Moderate buying from the non-tyre sector absorbed arrivals at lower levels. Sheet rubber RSS 4 traded steady at Rs 60.25 at Kottayam and Rs 60 at Kochi as on Tuesday. In the international scene, RSS 3 improved further to Rs 65.64 from Rs 65.40 at Bangkok. NMCE rubber futures improved marginally reflecting the firm global trends. The July contract was quoted at Rs 60.46 (Rs 60.21), August contract at Rs 60.79 (Rs 60.43), September contract at Rs 58.40 (Rs 58) and October contract at Rs 57.50 (Rs 56.99) per kg for RSS 4.The trading volumes till noon were low at 274 lots as most of the traders preferred to stay on the sidelines. The July futures for RSS 3 improved to 171.1 yen against 170.1yen a kg at TOCOM. The spot prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 60.25 (Rs 60.25); RSS-5: Rs 57.75 (Rs 57.75); Ungraded: Rs 56 (Rs 56); ISNR 20: Rs 55.50 (Rs 55.50); and Latex 60%: Rs 38.50 (Rs 38.50).
