Encore teams up with Datanet to offer fund transfer solutions

Our Bureau

Bangalore , July 4

ENCORE Software has entered into a strategic partnership with Datanet Systems Ltd to develop an application that will enable transfer of funds between two countries, using Encore's mobile, hand-held devices and Datanet's proprietary smart-card authentication software.

This solution has been developed for the UK-based XK8 Systems, which works in the areas of electronic payment systems and supporting communication services.

As a pilot project, this application, using Encore's Simputer with a built-in Smart-card Reader/Writer, would be deployed to enable fund transfer between a person in the UK and a person in Ghana. The pilot project is expected to commence mid-August.

Mr Sam Lupton, Director, XK8 Systems, said depending upon the pilot project's success, the service would be extended for transferring funds between the UK and West Africa.
