DHL launches weather-proof packaging solution

Mumbai , July 4

DHL has launched a weatherproof packaging solution called the DHL Express Pallet to protect shipments handled during the monsoon season.

According to an official statement, the palletised packaging solution is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.

Made of reinforced corrugated cardboard, the Express Pallet boxes are coated with water-resistant adhesives to protect shipments against water damage. To ensure maximum protection, each shipment is strapped and fully shrink-wrapped.

An official statement quoted Mr Chris Callen, Country Manager, DHL Express India, as saying, "Sending heavy shipments has always been a cumbersome process for exporters, especially during the monsoons. DHL has developed a weatherproof packaging solution to make this process easier."

The DHL Express Pallet, with its perforated sides, can be folded easily in three ways, to accommodate freight weighing 100 kg, 75 kg or 50 kg.

The varying shipment weights are matched with the box's height dimensions.

The Express Pallet has an all-inclusive fixed price that covers the cost of the Express Pallet packaging, pick-up, documentation, carriage, customs clearance and delivery to the recipient's doorstep.

All shipments sent under the DHL Express Pallet service are pre-alerted at their destinations, thus ensuring faster Customs clearance.

DHL also pays the destination duties on behalf of the exporter, ensuring minimal loss of time.
