Bosch in pact with German co for filter systems

BOSCH Group and Germany's MANN & Hummel GmbH have entered a joint venture to set up a manufacturing facility to produce fuel filter systems as well as oil, fuel, air and cabin filters for the Indian as well as export markets.
The two companies had signed an agreement last month, under which they will share the ownership equally. The plant to be set up with an investment of Rs 35 crore would be located in Tumkur in Karnataka. The production of filters is expected to start by middle of next year.
According to a company spokesman, the joint venture agreement was signed last month under which the Bosch Group would be equal owners of the entity through their subsidiaries Robert Bosch Investment Nederland B.V. and Motor Industries Company Ltd (MICO) and MANN & Hummel Filter Private Ltd, a subsidiary of MANN & Hummel GmbH.
The joint venture company would develop and manufacture the products for automotive markets and for industrial applications with technology assistance from Hummel & Mann.
