Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: Bengali news channel, Star Ananda has achieved 52 per cent market share in Kolkata and 49 per cent share of the West Bengal market across all news channels in the fourth week of its launch.

As per the latest ratings, Star Ananda accounts for 49 of the top 50 programmes across all news channels in the region. Commenting on the success, Mr Uday Shankar, CEO - MCCS (Media Content & Communications Services India Pvt. Ltd.), said, "The overwhelming success of Star Ananda goes to show that the news needs of the discerning Bengali audience were so far neglected by the news broadcasters. The channel has addressed the needs of this audience by delivering news that matters to them in their own language."
