Mumbai , July 6

THE Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has tied up with Mr Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft for the production of the movie Krrish, which is the sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya.

Under the collaboration, Mr Roshan will film about 60 per cent of the movie in Singapore, with the STB facilitating the logistics support and ground requirements for the filming in Singapore.

This will be the first film to be shot in Singapore under the STB's `Film in Singapore Scheme'. Under the $10-million scheme, filmmakers and broadcasters will be encouraged to shoot and produce movies and television programmes in Singapore. The funding is proposed to be disbursed in three years and will subsidise up to 50 per cent of the qualifying expenses incurred during the shoot in Singapore.

"This tie-up would be a win-win proposition for both the STB and the film-maker. While the film will showcase various facets of the city-state to a large audience in India, the film team would gain from the logistics support to be provided by the STB on-site," said Mr Lim Neo Chian, Deputy Chairman & Chief Executive, STB, while addressing presspersons here today.

According to Mr Roshan, the range and diversity of locations offered by Singapore in a small area made the city-state an ideal choice for film-making.

The shoot in Singapore will last for 60 days from September to November 2005.

Over 100 cast and crew will fly from India, China and the US to Singapore during this period. An additional 100 cast would be hired from Singapore.
