Books Industry & Economy - Off-shore Development Book on offshore services launched Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 8 THE Offshore Nation is not one country of region but a world of buyers and sellers, linked by a desire for higher productivity, lower costs and matching supply with demand, according to Mr Atul and Mr Avinash Vashishta, co-authors of `The Offshore Nation: The Rise of Services Globalisation'. Their new book launched here today, looks at the good, the bad and the ugly of offshore services, the competitive imperatives that drive it, and the various offshore models that have developed to meet the needs of corporations and businesses. At the launch of the book here today, neoIT co-founders and co-authors, Mr Atul and Mr Avnisah Vashishta, said the book is aimed at helping companies begin the globalisation journey and reduce the risks inherent in the process, and maximise the return on investment. "Services globalisation is an important part of the strategic plan of any successful firm and companies need to understand the diversity of the offshore markets, to mitigate the risks in the process and to leverage more than just cost savings." The book provides a balanced and insightful view of global sourcing and the various components that make it a successful strategy for organisations,'' said Mr Sudip Banerjee, Wipro Technologies.
