Co-operatives NCDC approves projects worth Rs 280 crore Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 16 THE National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 842.7 crore up to July 9 for the current financial year. In the recent meeting of the board of management, the corporation approved projects worth more than Rs 280 crore. Projects approved in the textile sector include provision of investment loans of Rs 86.90 crore for participation in share capital of five co-operative spinning mills in Solapur, Kolahpur, Nanded and Satara districts of Maharashtra. NCDC is also providing assistance to support marketing of agricultural produce through its various schemes. In this sphere, the corporation approved a working capital loan of Rs 300 crore to National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India. In an effort to support sugarcane growers' co-operatives, NCDC sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 81.75 lakh for construction of a sugar godown by a sugar co-operative in the Narmada district of Gujarat. To support the agro-processing activities, the corporation approved a term loan assistance of Rs 57 lakh for establishment of an oil complex to an agro-processing and marketing co-operative in Amreli, Gujarat.
