Rubber prices remain flat

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , July 18

DOMESTIC spot rubber prices were almost flat on Monday. The market remained firm in the absence of quantum sellers as exporters were reported to be active in the market. Covering groups and purchase agents kept a low profile to maintain the prices steady as RSS 3 improved further to Rs 73.42 from Rs 73.11 a kg at Bangkok.

Speculators were hesitant to buy at the prevailing rates as any reversal in the global trend might induce moderate losses in the domestic scene. NMCE rubber futures turned weak. The August contract was quoted at Rs 65.45 (Rs 65.84), September at Rs 63.07 (Rs 63.62), October at Rs 60.30 (Rs 60.70) and November at Rs 59.25 (Rs 59.80) per kg for RSS 4.

Physical rubber prices a kg were: RSS-4 : Rs 66.00 (Rs 66.00); RSS-5: Rs 63.50 (Rs 63.50); ungraded: Rs 60.00 (Rs 60.50); ISNR 20: Rs 60.00 (Rs 60.00); and latex 60 pc: Rs 42.00 (Rs 42.00).
