HEWLETT Packard India has inaugurated its premium retail outlet called the Experience Zone in Chennai. The outlet showcases the company's range of solutions and applications, including consumer desktops and notebooks, deskjet printers, laser jet printers and all-in-ones, according to a company official.

Mr Varadarajan Krishnan, General Manager, Consumer Sales, HP India Sales Pvt Ltd, said that currently the company has 205 such premium outlets in India and plans to open 50 more in the coming year. These outlets allow consumers to touch and feel products before they buy, he told presspersons.

The company, which has a significant share in imaging and printing segment, is also moving to a number of tier-II cities, including Coimbatore. Tamil Nadu was significant in the company's overall expansion plans considering that there are a number of industries, including BPOs (business process outsourcing), manufacturing and small and medium size enterprises, he added.
