If sitting on profit, take out part of it

Khan sat like the Sphinx, wondering when violence would end, and Jogin tried to match what Aiyar said about gas against the PM's statements. Dakshinamoorthy tried to teach his new pet, a parrot, words like 'buy' and 'sell', but Sridevi pressed the 'Chat' button! Stand by!

Sri : Hi, KJD, the Mumbai bulls!

Dax: Chart patterns suggest that bullish trends could continue.

Jog: Overall mood is still bullish and the next level expected is 7500!

Kay: Shall we say, market will open firm today?

Sri : There are talks that another $1-2 billion is expected to come in...

Jog: True! Over the next few months!

Dax: If that happens, expect where the markets are headed for!

Kay: Curse me if you want, but I must warn you...

Dax: That it is very risky to invest in stocks now?

Sri : I too feel so. It's better to stay away from the market.

Jog: If sitting on profit, sell part of it. JMO: Just my opinion.

Kay: Markets turned extremely bullish with excess liquidity giving strong momentum to the index. But did you hear the FM's caution?

Sri : Asking investors to be prudent and not be exuberant about this current bullish phase? Should we read between the lines?

Dax: He said what he's said! From now on, be cautious when putting fresh money in equities. Small-cap is becoming mid-cap, as volumes rise!

Kay: Means, huge buying interest in some unknown stocks?

Jog: Worryingly, stocks get noticed in a bull market irrespective of fundas!

Dax: Which is when, any names you tell will rise.

Sri : Let's get to specifics! :-}

Kay: Impressive revenue and earnings growth to cause an upward trend in Godrej Consumer Products, Aegis Logistics and Indian Hotels.

Jog: In low-price stocks watch Malabar Building Products. It has announced healthy earnings numbers for the first quarter.

Dax: Expect a correction in Strides Arcolab as its merger with Matrix Laboratories has fallen through.

Kay: Right, both likely to fall today. But, a smart trader may better buy Strides if there is sharp fall in the stock price.

Jog: Hmm... It has run-up very fast after the merger announcement!

Sri : Street interest in Marson's, Photoquip Vans Info and ABB.

Dax: Adlabs is another stock that is being recommended by smart traders.

Kay: Because of some big developments happening in the company?

Jog: Yet, it is only for investors who can wait for more than one year.

Sri : I'm watching Iran gas, oops, Indraprastha Gas. Any suggestions?

Kay: The stock, after hovering in the Rs 90 range for some time...

Dax: Suddenly crossed the Rs 100 mark!

Kay: Market expects it to ride the gas boom just setting in.

Sri : Is the picture clear on NDTV?

Jog: Check your remote, Sri! Or, get a flat screen.

Dax: Be serious! The stock moved up quite a bit, but is suddenly down...

Kay: To around Rs 235, giving opportunity for fresh money to move in for further accumulation. Doing well after launch of business channel.

Jog: NTPC, the PSU heavyweight is up to Rs 92 now...

Dax: So, you're fervently conjecturing that it's now set for further upside?

Sri : It had reached a high of Rs 99 some time earlier and investors are said to have waited far too long for the stock to show some strength.

Jog: It stayed in the Rs 82-88 bracket long enough.

Kay: Canara Bank reported 44% decline in Q1 net. The stock rose sharply last Friday. I could see some fall in the share price this week.

Sri : Tata Power seems to be good, looking at the charts. Buy!

Jog: Paul Getty said, "Money is like manure... If you don't spread it, it stinks." Dax, can you spread the good news about last week?

Dax: On July 18, ITI jumped almost 30 per cent, and Aptech made 20 per cent gain. SSI and Gslot made about 10 per cent profit!

Sri : Futura Poly earned about 9, TCS made 6, Wall St got 4, Biopac earned 3 plus while Sanghvi managed to stay in the positive zone.

Kay: Let me caution once again. At the moment stay away from market, don't invest more money. If sitting on profit, take out part of it.

Jog: "Your adversary has no warning about what kind of magic you're about to perform," said Hermione, "which gives you a split-second advantage." Do you know where I snatched this from?

Dax: "An answer copied almost word for word from The Standard Book of Spells, Grade Six," said Snape! Let me disappear... Whoosh!
