Zensar shortlists Hyderabad for centre

PUNE-based Zensar Technologies has signed a three-year $4.5-million contract with the Shenzhen Government in China to set up a centre of excellence to provide project management training to Chinese software professionals.

Talking to presspersons after the annual general meeting of the company, Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, said the centre currently had about 30 people on its rolls and was executing a project for a New York retail client.

He said it has two projects on its roll and its plan was to reach a revenue target of $10 million and a profit of $1-1.5 million by 2008-09. He said the operations thia year would be profitable.

Mr Natarajan said there was a high potential in developing China as an alternate development centre as a huge labour pool was available.Mr Natarajan said, as part of expansion plans, the company has shortlisted Hyderabad as their next additional facility and the new centre would be operational by the end of next quarter of the current fiscal. He said it would house 100 people initially and later ramped up to 300.

The company has identified the person who would head the operations, but did not want to disclose the name. He said the centre would focus on financial services, migration and probably one ERP solution.
