Artech unveils multilingual computing software

ARTECH India (formerly Softek Pvt Ltd) today launched multilingual computing software in four Indian languages sporting features such as an independent office suite, unicode compliance and inbuilt transliteration.

The product would soon be ramped up to allow computing in 16 Indian languages by December this year, the Artech India Country Head, Mr Yogendra Tripathi, said at a conference here.

The product - Akshar Naveen, which allows computing in English, was released in Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi and Gujarati. The company is also planning an Akshar Naveen version in Linux, which would be ready by October or November this year.

Akshar Naveen has a list price of Rs 12,500, and an average price of Rs 4,500 for a minimum of 600 copies. The new product would be sold directly as well as through dealers.
