LMC Q1 turnover down, profit up

DESPITE a marginal dip in net sales, the Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd (LMC) has shown sharp increase in net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal compared to the corresponding previous period.

According to the unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, net sales were Rs 35.84 crore (Rs 36.28 crore). There was a significant decline in cost of raw materials at Rs 16.57 crore (Rs 19.20 crore).

The company recorded net decline in interest outgo at Rs 14.29 lakh (Rs 1.29 crore). Net profit was higher at Rs 1.13 crore (Rs 17.18 lakh) and EPS zoomed to Rs 16.33 (Rs 2.47).
