Priority credit exceeds in Thiruvananthapuram dist

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Priority credit disbursement by banks in Thiruvananthapuram district for fiscal 2004-05 has exceeded Rs 1,828 crore against the targeted Rs 1,393.95 crore.

This was revealed at the District Level Review Committee of Banks conducted by Indian Overseas Bank, the Lead Bank for the district, said Mr Abraham Shaji John, Lead District Manager.

The credit-deposit ratio for the district stood at 75 per cent, well above State's average of 59 per cent.

The services sector recorded the highest quantum by accounting for Rs 1,154.29 crore of the disbursed, while the agricultural sector recorded Rs 566.86 crore and industries Rs 107.47 crore.
