DHL launches time-bound service

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Aug. 8

LOGISTICS company DHL has announced TimeDefinite Delivery (TDD) service, a door-to-door delivery service that ensures that documents reach their destination by a specified time on the second business day. With the new service, customers in India can send or receive documents to and from 12 cities in the Asia-Pacific.

DHL's `StartDay Express' offers second day delivery pre-nine a.m. and `MidDay Express' offers second day delivery pre-noon.

If the delivery is not made by the stated time, the customer is notified and a report stating the reason for the delay is communicated. Should the cause of the delay lie with DHL, the total transportation charges could be refunded. The service will be first available in Mumbai and New Delhi and later in Chennai and Bangalore.

DHL, owned by Deutsche Post World Net, provides express, air and ocean freight, overland transport and logistics solutions. It is present in more than 220 countries and territories.
