New Projects RIL keen on setting up chemicals hub in West Bengal Our Bureau
Kolkata , Aug. 8 RELIANCE Industries Ltd has evinced interest in setting up a chemicals hub in West Bengal, among other investments. The company's Chairman, Mr Mukesh Ambani, has sought an appointment with the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, to discuss Reliance Industries' proposed investment plans in the State. Talking to newspersons at the state administrative headquarters of Writers' Buildings here today, Mr Bhattacharjee said Mr Ambani had written to him stating his proposed investment interests in the State. Mr Ambani has also stated that Reliance Industries' IT training project in Kolkata was progressing as per schedule. Mr Bhattacharjee also said that a cancer hospital proposed to be set up by the Tatas in Kolkata would soon become a reality. Representatives of the Tata Group would meet the Chief Minister tomorrow to discuss the proposed project, which has "almost been finalised". Land for the project would be allotted at New Town Rajarhat, Mr Bhattacharjee said.
