Bangalore , Aug. 10

THE State's IT and BT Secretary, Mr M.K. Shankarlinge Gowda, said on Wednesday that the State would soon allot about 1,000 acres of land for the proposed electronics hardware park.

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board will develop the land for the proposed park, which will come up near the international airport at Devanahalli. "The notification is expected to come before the Bangalore.in event in early November," Mr Gowda said.

The State Government, Mr Gowda said, is making efforts to get a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status for the proposed park. An SEZ status will make available concessions on excise duty to companies that will set up operations in the hardware park.
