SBI(Kerala Circle) staff observe protest day

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Activists of officers' and staff unions of State Bank of India, Kerala Circle, protested on Wednesday, alongside their counterparts elsewhere in the country, against the proposed merger of SBI with associate banks.

Mr Vinayachandran and Mr M. Sreenath, President and Secretary respectively of the SBI Officers Association (SBIOA) and Mr K. Raja Kurup and Mr John Joseph, President and Secretary respectively of State Banks' Staff Union (SBSU) led the demonstration in front of the SBI head office here. All employees wore black badges on duty. The officers' and staff unions also resolved to present a mass protest memorandum to the bank Chairman. They threatened direct action if their demands were not met.
