GET Lionel eyes Rs 350-cr turnover

HYDERABAD: GET Lionel India, a K.K. Birla Group travel company, has set a turnover target of Rs 350 crore by the end of 2008-09.

The company, which recorded a turnover of Rs 75 crore during 2004-05, hoped to achieve Rs 110 crore during the current financial year.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the Chief Executive Officer of GET Lionel, Mr Gaurav Sundaram, said the company focussed on corporate travel market that was pegged at Rs 8,800 crore in the country. "We are not in retail space," he added.

"We had a market share of 1.25 per cent in the segment we operated," he said. The market segment was growing at 12-15 per cent in the last three years.

Of the total Rs 13,200-crore travel services market, business segment occupied 65 per cent, while leisure contributed 30 per cent.

Mr Gaurav was in city in connection with the launch of company's operations here.
