Meeting increasing demand

Studies by the Food and Agriculture Organisation have projected 50 million tonnes increase in demand for fish and fishery products by 2015 from the current 133 million tonnes. The global average per capita demand for all seafood was 16.1 kg during 1999-2001 and it is projected to rise to 18.4 kg in 2010.
