ICD with little traffic

WITH much fanfare, an inland container depot (ICD) was launched in 2002 by the Container Corporation of India at Fatuah near Patna mainly at the behest of the then Railway Minister who presumably wanted it on the ground of political expediency without caring much for its viability. The result: There is no outward traffic and the volume of inward traffic too leaves much to be desired — at the most two rakes a month the cargo being mainly white cement from the Rajasthan area.
