Retailing Bohra Group to set up more Kitchenworld outlets Deepak Goel
New Delhi , Sept. 12 THE Chennai-based Bohra Group plans to increase the number of Kitchenworld retail outlets to 20 by the end of 2006 from the existing seven stores through a franchise model. Kitchenworld is a chain of retail showrooms offering readymade interiors for kitchens and electro-domestic appliances. It markets kitchen solutions manufactured by Italy-based Aran Group part of Masco Corporation of the US which are imported as fully built units. The price of the kitchen unit starts at Rs 125,000. The interiors are water-repellent and non-toxic, claims the company. Mr Rajesh Bohra, Managing Director, Kitchenworld, said, "The kitchen solutions offered by the stores range from off-the-shelf accessories to products that can be ordered from the catalogue. The usual time taken to import the ordered solutions is 90 days." The company had a turnover of Rs 5 crore last fiscal and hopes to clock a turnover of Rs 20 crore by the end of 2006. The company also offers annual maintenance contracts for the kitchen units for Rs 3,000-12,000 a year.By the end of next year, the company plans to have two stores in each in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore and one store each in 12 other cities.
