Shriram group cos plan to raise capital

CHENNAI: Two companies of the Chennai-based Shriram group, Shriram Investments Ltd and Shriram Transport Finance Ltd, have informed the stock exchange of their companies' Board meetings to consider further raising of capital through domestic or overseas offerings.

Incidentally, these two companies, both of which are into truck financing, are to be merged into one entity by end of this calendar year. It is understood that the fund raising is more likely after the merger.
