Easy to recommend, risky to follow

Khan busied himself with a tarazu, putting fundamentals on one side, and technicals on the other. Jogin was too tied up with restringing his tennis racquet. Dakshinamoorthy lay in a hammock reading Bull God, a novel by Roberta Gellis. Sridevi brought them all together for the market chat.

Join the fun!

**

Sri : Hi, let me start with good news. Chart patterns suggest…

Kay: A continuation of the bullish trend, you want to say, right?

Jog: How bullish you are, butting in before Sri finished!

Dax: All is fair in war and… bull market, Jog. ;-)

Sri : Overall mood in the market is still upbeat, but…

Jog: It's a very risky situation at the moment, let me add!

Dax: If you buy and the stock price falls then it's a loss.

Jog: And if you sell and the stock price rises, that's a notional loss.

Sri : This is the situation for many of the market players at the moment.

Dax: I heard a new rhyme, "Bulls are saying, bear with me!"

Kay: Does that mean bears are also on the bulls' side?

Sri : Is 9,000 in sight? Like a rainbow with a pot of gold…

Jog: I smell coffee from the kitchen. Do you smell scam?

Kay: The FM has assured us there's no scam!

Dax: Everyone is excited about the rocket-speed rally in the market.

Sri : Liquidity flows appear robust, healthy, vigorous, full-bodied, strong…

Kay: Bas, bas. This can lead to more interest in large-caps stocks.

Jog: That's why I say stop looking for tips right now!

Kay: Yeah, and try to save the profits and capital at the moment.

Sri : If you can read tealeaves, some fall is likely this week…

Jog: Most probably one could see some large-scale selling today.

Kay: Hmm… Many traders will look at selling today at higher levels.

Dax: What happened last Monday? Anybody crunched numbers?

Sri : On Sep 12, Uniphos gained almost 20 per cent, while Indo Gulf and Andhra Cem made about 10. Steelco Guj and Birla Global...

Jog: They were in the 5 per cent range, and scrips that gained 4 plus were Grasim, Snowcem and Jindal Steel.

Dax: Ontrack, Sonata Soft, McLeod Rus and ITC were up 2 to 3 per cent.

Sri : Eveready, Ultratech, Tata Steel, and SAIL stayed positive.

Jog: As for this week, no stock-tip please! Just sell part of the stocks!

Kay: I agree. The best way should be to move to stocks with strong fundamentals.

Sri : One such stock is HLL. This stock looks good in the current situation. It has not participated much in the rally. So possibility of fall it is not much.

Dax: Street talk indicates action in Nagarika Exports, Sandhu Pharma, and SPIC.

Kay: There are indications that SBI and HDFC may continue to attract institutional investor buying.

Jog: ITC may settle at higher levels post stock split and bonus when these take effect this week.

Dax: "When gods walked the Earth, a king could pray for and have a white bull rise from the sea to confirm his claim to the throne," Gellis says!

Sri : GHCL may be in the limelight on the back of a private placement.

Kay: Another stock is Wipro. Buy it for long-term by selling some of the stocks in your portfolio.

Dax: If you're ready, I can tell you about Eveready Industries. At Rs 133 and set to go higher! Not a bad show for a stock that set free. The baggage was tea, which went to a sister company only recently.

Sri : Bharti Tele at a 52-week high on Friday. Enters insurance, with Axa!

Kay: Looks all set to reach Rs 400 in no time if the current trends persist.

Jog: Lots of steam left, because of plans to go beyond just telecom.

Dax: What about Duncans? A newly found story, thanks to the company's proximity to group venture Andhra Cement, another chartbuster. Duncans is implementing a major CDR package.

Sri : Suna tha ki Escorts would do well…

Kay: Also, steel and cement look strong. See SAIL, Tata Steel and ACC.

Dax: In small-cap, try Unimer...

Sri : GAIL is doing well after the Bangladesh coalfield offer.

Kay: Pharma lying low now, like Jog. But when the sector joins the bull party, look at Cadila and Suven.

Jog: Let me remind everybody, giving recommendations is easy. What is very risky is to take the suggestions.
