Zonal Railways told to improve redressal mechanism

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Sept. 18

THE Railway Ministry has directed zonal railways and divisions to make the redressal mechanism functional from September 30.

It has asked the telephone directorate to obtain an "all India telephone number with adequate number of lines, which is publicised to users." It has also called for setting up of a round-the-clock public grievances control room in the Railway Board.

It has also said a control room should be equipped with all the required telecom facilities including STD, a caller ID and hot lines with Zonal Railways and important divisions.
