Virinchi enters into pact with Qualcomm, Mobitas

Virinchi has developed interactive games for an environment where multiple mobile users function.

VIRINCHI Technologies Ltd, the Hyderabad-based products and services provider, has forayed into mobile applications covering gaming, enterprise solutions and has partnered Mobitas to develop applications for the construction industry.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Virinchi, Mr Viswanath Kompella, said increasingly mobile phones are assuming the role of a PC.

"As a part of this initiative, we have partnered with Qualcomm and have set up a BREW centre, and with Mobitas to develop a solution for construction industry. BREW (binary runtime environment for wireless) pioneered by Qualcomm helps run various mobile applications," he said.

Referred to as BuildPlans, this joint IP developed at Hyderabad, helps people in the construction industry to send ground information to the office using mobile phones, capturing local data, he told Business Line.

The company, in partnership with Mobile Websurf, has developed a solution for mobile phones where a user can access and send information using his mobile phone as if he were working on a PC.

The Virinchi mobile applications group has developed interactive games for an environment where multiple mobile users function. These can now be played individually, but effort is on to make it a team game, he explained.

Meanwhile, the company is set to hike the authorised capital from Rs 13 crore to Rs 18 crore and is set to seek shareholders nod to pave the way for a preferential offer. The offer, to be made to both strategic investors and promoters, is priced at Rs 67 per share, as per SEBI norms.
