Kerala bank staff to join strike

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bank employees in Kerala will join the nationwide strike organised by labour unions on September 29 to protest against globalisation.

According to Mr K. Raja Kurup, General Secretary of the Kerala unit of the National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE), activists will use the opportunity to highlight long-pending demands.

These include lifting ban on recruitments, scrapping bank mergers, amendment of key Acts that hurt labour interests, and increasing PF interest rates.
