Clarification

With reference to the news report on Infineon Technologies, published in these columns on September 21, the company clarifies:

"Infineon introduced the ultra-low cost reference platform in July 2005. First handsets using this platform can be expected in early 2006. Infineon will continue to develop next generation platforms targeting further reduced cost positions. Such a platform could be available in high volumes as early as 2007."
