Events STPI expects more cos to take part in Bangalore IT.in Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept 23 FOLLOWING the truce reached between the Karnataka Government and the information technology (IT) sector, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) expects about 150 more companies to take part in the eighth edition of Bangalore IT.in. Speaking to Business Line, the STPI Director, Mr B.V.Naidu, who is in charge of both Bangalore and Hyderabad parks, on a visit to Hyderabad, said, "it was nice to learn that there has been a settlement between the industry and the Government and whatever apprehensions they had have been addressed." The response to the event, which is considered the flagship event for IT industry in the country over the years, has been tremendous. During the meeting, all the issues, both short-term and long-term, have been resolved. Any stalemate in this would have sent wrong signals to the participants. Apart from confirmed participation from 16 countries including the US, UK, Australia, Germany, France among others, 16 State Governments have agreed to take part in the fair. The event would be host to about 300 foreign delegates. 115 international companies and 60 domestic firms have confirmed participation. Several related events including a one-day seminar by TiE (the Indus Entrepreneurs), another one-day event by the Indian Semiconductor Association and yet another by IT Services Management Forum are on cards. These would be complemented by seminars on HR in IT and Beyond Bangalore to focus on Tier-II cities. Apart from these, while the Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to host a networking event, the British High Commissioner is set to host a CEO conclave, he said.
