New Products & Services LG Electronics launches premium PCs, notebooks Our Bureau

Mumbai , Sept. 23 LG ELECTRONICS India (LGEIL), which is already the top PC monitor company in the country, has launched a whole range of `premium IT products'. The company hopes to grow revenues from its IT division, currently at 12 per cent of its revenues. Overall, the revenues from its IT division in is expected to grow considerably during the current year, said Mr R. Manikandan, General Manager, Sales & Marketing (IT products), LGEIL. The new introductions from the company include wide format notebooks (based on Sonoma platform), tablet PCs and desktop PCs based on Mediacentre platform. LG has already invested nearly Rs 10 crore in R&D and manufacturing for its PC business. A few weeks ago, the company had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a manufacturing facility at its Ranjangaon plant for DVDs at an investment of Rs 150 crore.
