E-Governance Oracle to tap e-Gov projects Our Bureau
CHENNAI: The Oracle-HP e-Governance Centre of Excellence (CoE) is working on a concept for a data hub that will collate information available with the Government departments. This is would be a part of the e-Governance efforts in India, according to the company's Senior Director, Mr S.P.S. Grover. He told newspersons that data hubs would enable Government departments using multiple information technology infrastructures or independent data systems to communicate with each other. The data hub is a component of the Rs 12,000-crore National e-Governance Plan. The Plan is aimed at integrated IT infrastructure so that government to citizen, government to government and government to business interactions become faster, more efficient and productive. Oracle would be part of a consortium and work with Indiansoftware companies such as Infosys, Tata Consultancy, Satyam and Wipro, to tap e-Governance projects. In India, there are over 100 e-Governance projects that work on Oracle products, he said.
