ENERGY Management Centre (EMC), an autonomous centre under the Department of Power, has invited applications for Energy Conservation Awards - 2005 from individuals and institutions.

The awards pertain to 2004-05 financial year and are available in seven categories. Those winning in the categories of small-scale enterprises, non-profit organisations, research and innovation, individuals and public buildings will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

The other categories are large-scale and medium-scale enterprises, according to a communication from the Director, EMC.

The qualifying period for the award is the previous financial year from April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005. However, as conservation efforts require a longer period of implementation in some cases, work in this direction for the immediate past three years will also be reviewed.

Application forms can be obtained in person or by post from the Energy Management Centre, Thycaud P.O., Thiruvananthapuram. The category for which the application form is required must be clearly indicated.
