Telecommunications Marketing - Promotions & Offers Two-year validity on prepaids of Tata mobiles Our Bureau
New Delhi , Oct. 14 TELECOM service provider Tata Teleservices announced on Friday a new offering where customers buying its `Non-Stop Mobile' range of handsets can receive free incoming calls for a period of two years, without recharging regularly. "With `non-stop mobile', there is no monthly commitment and subscribers are free to recharge with any recharge voucher (starting at Rs 50) and use the value till they desire, up to the entire value period of the mobile. The recharge vouchers come with 100 per cent talk time," Dr Naresh Malhan, President, Operations, Tata Teleservices, said at a press conference here. The company is offering four new colour and black and white mobile handsets Indicom Star, Indicom Ace, Samsung Neo and Kyocera Prisma priced at Rs 3,999, Rs 2,499, Rs 2,999 and Rs 3,249, respectively. Under the scheme, two pre-paid mobile subscribers of Tata can talk absolutely free of cost for two years as a call from one Tata mobile to another is free. "We are targeting a market share of over 20 per cent and the new scheme will provide the necessary impetus to our plans. Through these initiatives we are targeting 10 million subscribers by March 2006," Mr Malhan said. He said despite the late entry into mobile telephony, Tatas' services were available in 20 circles covering the entire country. The new scheme was for a limited period, till November end, and an extension would depend on the response from the market.
