THE supply of LPG is normal in the State and the delay in supplying refills is confined only to a few areas, according to Mr Bhanwarlal, the Civil Supplies Commissioner.
He said at a press meet here on Friday that as many as 705 of the 805 LPG distributors (87.5 per cent) were supplying refills within the normal time of four days.
The remaining distributors were spread over 17 districts of the State and the delay in supply by them ranged from five to ten days, and the short supply was being felt in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Krishna districts, he said.
Narrating the steps taken by the Government to ensure normal supply of LPG, Mr Bhanwarlal said that against the normal demand of 60,000 tonnes a month efforts were being made to get 68,000 tonnes during the current month.
The Chief Minister had written to the Union Petroleum Minister urging him to move an additional 27,000 tonnes from the refineries to meet the demand and clear the backlog. Besides, the LPG bottling units were working two shifts to meet the demand.
