Labour reforms

This refers to the report, "Govt may allow contract labour in IT", (Business Line, October 16).

In exempting certain industries such as IT, transport, and construction from the Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970, the Government may say that it is only regularising what is already in existence. This could be the first step in the direction of labour reforms.
