Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 16

COASTAL Express-1, the feeder service run by Seaways Shipping Ltd between Vizag-Kolkata-Chittagong, will now be extended to Chennai.

The maiden call of the 224-TEU capacity feeder would be on October 25, with the port rotation of Chennai-Kolkata-Chittagong-Vizag-Chennai, and a 12-day fixed schedule.

According to a company press release here, the shuttle service in the north Bay of Bengal would also induce transhipment and coastal trade between Chennai/Vizag and Kolkata container terminals.

Seaways Shipping launched Coastal Express-1 about four months ago.
