WEST Bengal has been selected as the focus State for this year's India International Trade Fair scheduled to be held at Pragati Maidan from November 14-27.

Uttaranchal is the partner State for the meet.

Addressing the members of the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce, Ms Naseem Ishaque, General Manager, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), said that 30 lakh visitors are expected.

The basic theme of the meet will be infrastructure but it will also lay stress on power and communication.

The meet will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.

Apart from these two sectors, engineering, automobiles, electronics, IT, home and kitchen appliances, food and food products, cosmetic and healthcare, toys and stationery, jute, khadi, and consumer goods among other things will also feature.

ITPO is also organising the 10th International Security, Safety & fire Exhibition from December 9-12 at Pragati Maidan in partnership with the Central Industrial Security Force.
