Shipping Logistics - Financial Performance SCI net dips to Rs 149.9 cr in Q2 Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 29 SHIPPING Corporation of India (SCI) has reported a fall in net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal to touch Rs 149.95 crore against Rs 210.13 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal, in the wake of softening of the global freight market. During the quarter, the company's income was Rs 747.37 crore (Rs 792.44 crore). During the half-year period ended September 30, the net profit was Rs 424.02 crore against Rs 528.83 crore in the first six months of last fiscal. The bulk segment continued to be its major revenue contributor, accounting for Rs 566.34 crore out of its total revenue earnings of Rs 747.37 crore during the quarter. The bulk segment includes crude and product tankers, dry bulk carriers, gas carriers and phosphoric acid carriers. The company's share price closed on Friday at Rs 151.45, on the BSE.
