Name change for Traders Hotel

Our Bureau

Chennai , Oct 31

TRADERS Hotel in Chennai is now The Accord Metropolitan, Chennai.

This follows the termination of an agreement between Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, which owned the Traders name, and J Hotels Ltd, the promoters of the hotel.

J Hotels Ltd has tied up with the Accord Metropolitan Hospitality Pte Ltd of Singapore, according to a press release issued by the company.

J Hotels had signed up with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for a management contract for the 162-room hotel, which it wanted to convert into a franchise agreement. The release said that Shangri-La Hotels did not offer such arrangements, because of which a joint decision was made to "part ways, after frank and thoughtful discussions."
