New BoI products for small businesses

TARGETING the small and medium enterprises sector, Bank of India has come out with two new products - Star Diamond Current Account and Star Gold Current Account - during its centenary year.

The two new products are tailor-made to meet the credit requirements of SMEs up to Rs 5 crore and are packed with unparalleled advantages, Mr A.A. Badshah, Zonal, Manager of Bank of India, said.

Star Diamond Current account is offered to customers who have an average quarterly balance of Rs 2 lakh and above, while the Star Gold Current account is meant for those who have an average quarterly balance of Rs 50,000.

The host of privileges include free ATM-cum debit card, phone/SMS/Internet banking, multi-branch banking, multi-city cheques and instant credit of outstation cheques of up to Rs 1 lakh. There is also a unique cheque bounce protection facility of up to Rs 50,000 per day on selective basis.

He added that in course of time, Bank of India proposed to introduce Star Diamond Plus current account for which customers need to an average quarterly balance of Rs 1 lakh.
