GM sales rise marginally

NEW DELHI: General Motors India (GMI) on Thursday said its October sales increased marginally by 2.8 per cent at 2,829 units against 2,752 units in the same month last year.

GMI said sales were driven mainly by its multi-utility vehicle Chevrolet Tavera, which grew by 35 per cent in monthly sales. Overall, the Chevrolet brand showed a 19.29-per cent rise in combined monthly sales with 1,901 Taveras and 652 Optras sold in October.

Consolidated sales between January and October stood at 26,371 units, up 24 per cent from last year. These included 15,444 Taveras, 6,260 Optras and 4,620 Opel Corsas.
