Organic farmers float forum in Kerala

Our Correspondent

KOTTAYAM: To popularise the use of bio-fertilisers for the promotion of agriculture in the State, Plantrich has introduced a verity of programmes.

An organic farmers forum has also been set up under a social service society which functions under Plantrich.

About 800 farmers in Kottayam and Idukki districts are members of this forum. Plantrich would help farmers to update their knowledge and organise contact programmes on flower plant cultivation, tissue culture and upkeep and maintenance of nursery, farm tourism etc.

The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate the corporate office of the Plantrich at CSI Commercial Centre, Kottayam on November 6, said the Managing Director, Mr Bijumon Kurian.
