Bangalore , Nov. 7 MICO Bosch said on Monday that it expects to launch common rail injection systems in India sooner than its competitors. During the rollout of the 30 millionth PF pump, Mico's Managing Director, Dr Albert Hieronimus, told newspersons here that the production of common rail components will start from next year. The first of the common rail diesel systems will be launched in the market by early 2007, he said. Bosch, through its subsidiary, is investing over Rs 1,000 crore in manufacturing these systems. Dr Hieronimus said the production of distribution pumps will be raised to over 5 lakh units from around 4 lakh because of the increase in demand. PF pumps, the single cylinder pumps, accounted for 25 per cent of the Rs 400-crore exports of Mico. It also plans to introduce new PF pumps, which will be cleaner and more economical. A PF pump, part of the fuel injection equipment, injects a metered quantity of fuel. The injection requirements varies with the speed, load and operating conditions of the engines. PF pumps are fitted in auto-rickshaws, commercial three-wheelers, stationary engines, construction and agricultural machinery, ships and locomotives.
