Hughes Systique gets 2 investors, to open India centre

COMMUNICATIONS software systems development company Hughes Systique has announced it has closed a fully funded financing with two major investors — NextWave Wireless and SkyTerra Holdings — to launch the company's India development centre in Gurgaon.

SkyTerra Holdings is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyTerra Communications, which is a 50 per cent owner of Hughes Network Systems.

The Hughes Systique management would be led by Mr Pradeep Kaul, President and CEO, and Mr Anil Sharma, Executive Vice-President. In addition, Mr Pradman Kaul, Chairman and CEO of Hughes Network Systems, would serve as the Chairman of Hughes Systique.

"The management of Hughes Systique I composed of veterans from the telecommunication industry who were directly responsible for the launch of three telecom companies in India as part of Hughes Network Systems — Hughes Escorts Communications, Hughes Software Systems and Hughes Tele.com (India)," a company release said here.

Hughes Systique is positioning itself as a technology service company and would be developing telecom software with emphasis on wireless broadband, Voice over Internet Protocol, IP networks and next generation networks.
